THE BIO
Army Of Lovers was formed in Stockholm, Sweden in 1986. The three original members were Alexander Bard, Jean-Pierre Barda and La Camilla. La Camilla left the band in 1992 and was replaced by Michaela Dornonville de la Cour. Dominika Peczynski joined the band in 1993. Michaela Dornonville de la Cour left the band in 1996, after which Army Of Lovers has technically consisted of Alexander Bard, Jean-Pierre Barda and Dominika Peczynski as its three proper members within various artistic collaborations. Costume designer and scenographer Camilla Thulin has always worked as an additional supportive member of Army Of Lovers.
Army Of Lovers formally released their last new material in 2014. However nine years later Ukrainian superstar Olya Polyakova convinced the band to reunite to record the duet Love is Blue with her. In the process, the band began writing and recording further new material with their old collaborators and producers Anders Hansson and Anders Wollbeck and the result became a whole new album titled Sexodus, featuring in total ten tracks, of which five are brand new songs, two re-recordings of old Army Of Lovers classics, and three are tracks from the 2010s reunion that were never released in album format before. Army Of Lovers plan to follow up the Sexodus album release with a tour of Scandinavia and northern Europe in the summer of 2024.
